How to Calculate Bricks for a Wall

Accurate brick estimation is critical for any construction project in Pakistan. Over-ordering wastes money while under-ordering causes project delays. Our calculator uses precise mortar joint and brick dimension formulas to give you an exact count.

Key Terms

  • Half Brick Wall (4.5"): A single brick thick — used for partition walls and boundary fencing.
  • Full Brick Wall (9"): Two bricks thick — standard for exterior and load-bearing walls.
  • Mortar Joint: The space between bricks, usually 3/8" (9mm), filled with cement-sand mortar.
  • Wastage Factor: Always add 10% extra for breakage, cutting, and site waste.
  • Opening Deduction: Subtract the area of all doors and windows from the gross wall area before calculating bricks.
