The Defence Housing Authority (DHA) is a government-backed housing authority originally established to provide housing to military personnel but now open to the general public. DHA Lahore is the largest and most prestigious DHA scheme in Pakistan.

§DHA Transfer Process (Lahore)

Steps for transferring a DHA Lahore property:

  1. Obtain Excise NOC (from Excise Department, Punjab)
  2. Visit DHA Transfer Office with seller and buyer
  3. Submit: Transfer deed, CNIC copies, original allotment letter, membership certificate
  4. Pay: DHA transfer charges + stamp duty + CVT + registration fee + membership transfer fee
  5. New membership issued in buyer's name

§DHA Lahore — File Market Explained

A "file" in DHA context means a pre-balloted / pre-possession plot document — a transferable entitlement to a plot before physical possession.
